What does a typical day look like?
A typical day may include therapy in the morning, time to rest in your room, meals at scheduled times, activities, and visits with family. While this provides a general idea of the daily rhythm, we do our best to offer schedule flexibility and autonomy, so each patient has the most comfortable and supportive experience possible.
We do not directly complete Medicaid applications; however, we do have a Medicaid specialist available to help guide you through the process.
Unfortunately, we do not allow overnight guests. However, with our 24/7 visitation policy, we hope to accommodate family needs while also allowing your loved one time to rest, recover, and prepare to return home.
We do not typically recommend sitters, as our staff is equipped to support all aspects of your loved one’s care. In some cases, sitters may be allowed through partnered agencies that meet the same regulatory requirements as our own staff.
Therapy typically takes place in the morning. However, schedules may vary based on how we can best accommodate your loved one’s needs.
No, that is not necessary. We have our own pharmacy, and the hospital communicates directly with the pharmacy to help fill your loved one’s medications.
Bathing is offered on a rotating schedule: either Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, or Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. If there is ever a request or need for additional bathing, we are happy to accommodate it.
We have a salon that is open on Mondays and Fridays. Please let the nursing station know you would like to schedule this service, and they will help set it up.
Pricing and services are listed in the Welcome Admission Packet.
The nurse’s station is the first point of contact for questions related to direct care. You can reach the appropriate party by calling our main line at 205.663.3859. We will also provide the names and contact information for the leaders involved in your loved one’s care coordination.
We do provide briefs. However, we encourage families to bring any specific brands or personal items that may help their loved one feel most comfortable and at home.
Absolutely. Family and friends may check their loved one out, but they must return before midnight. This helps ensure compliance with support staff with the determination of skilled care as a necessary service.
This is strictly optional. We have a vending machine available on-site for patient convenience, should they want snacks of their preference. We also provide snacks upon request and allow snacks to be stored in the patient’s room.
